# Creating a merchant

Endpoint for creating a merchant, which will later be referenced when generating Pix transactions. The `merchant_id` you provide in this request must be the same value used when creating a Pix order, as described in: [Creating a Pix transaction](https://docs.beeteller.com/v1.0-international-pix/reference/creating-pix-transaction). This guarantees the correct linkage between the merchant and the transaction.
